How AFA Teens RTP supported ROI's mission.
Rural Opportunity Institute (ROI) builds the capacity of rural communities to heal from generational trauma and achieve health, safety, connection, and self-determination. They support youth, organizations, and communities across rural North Carolina to interrupt the cycle of trauma and design innovative solutions for healing and resilience.
AFA Teens RTP, led by Nidhi Sivashankar, supported this mission by bringing educational workshops directly to the youth ROI serves. Each session was designed to meet young people where they were, giving them practical tools for brain health, career readiness, and community leadership while reinforcing ROI's belief that rural communities are capable, strong, and deeply resilient.
